Students must be physically and mentally capable of performing the practical tasks required for this course.
Personal Protective Equipment (PPE):
Students must provide and wear protective footwear/safety shoes and comfortable, practical clothing during practical sessions and assessments.
Language, Literacy, and Numeracy Skills (LLN):
Students must be able to:
Read and interpret documentation including legislation and regulations, site plans, permit conditions, workplace and site procedures and documentation, safety and hazard control requirements
Communicate clearly in English to coordinate the workflow and organisational procedures as well as identify and clarify responsibility when responding to emergency situations
Complete workplace forms and reports.
Apply problem solving processes to identify risks, evaluate options and determine solutions

Scenario 1 - Apply operational safety measures for a work at heights scenario
Scenario 2 – Recognise and respond to an alarm
Documentation – The student must complete all documentation according to the required standard:
Complete a Pre-operation safety checklist
Sign onto Electrical Access Permit
Complete an Incident Report form
Theory assessment - A written assessment consisting of short-answer and multiple-choice questions. The student must complete all assessment questions
